Dr. Nixon with Triathlete Lena Schulze

We would like to introduce Dr. Craig Nixon as our in-house ITCA (International Triathlon Coaching Association) Professional Triathlon Coach and triathlon consultant!

Before jumping into the triathlon culture, Dr. Nixon swam four years at Lafayette College in Easton, Pennsylvania.  He attended graduate school at the University of Florida and remained on faculty while practicing in Gainesville.  Dr. Nixon took on the challenge of the inaugural faculty advisor for the UF Tri-Gator triathlon club.  Racing triathlons in the early 1990’s, his focus was primarily on sprint distances in the Central Florida area.

He eventually moved up to Ironman distances completing the Great Floridian Ironman in Clermont twice as well as Ironman USA in Lake Placid.  During his triathlon career, he achieved All-American and Professional recognition before retiring from the sport.

Eventually establishing a practice in Eastern Pennsylvania to be closer to his family, he became involved with USA swimming and water polo coaching—a stint that lasted for more than sixteen years.  Dr. Nixon retired and moved back to Florida settling in Fernandina Beach.  He has focused his energy on triathlon coaching full-time and can be found at PK’s fitting bikes and managing the challenges of bike mechanics.
